Interview Questions

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Some questions were really tough and time consuming but other than those were based on what we have learnt in these 3 years.
Tips: Brush up your basics of Mechanical engineering. Generally they follow syllabus given by GATE. Having some knowledge about automotive engines would come handy. Do not spend much time on one question.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Test
Experience: Aptitude questions were easy. General logic and simple high school maths was there. You have to be really fast for this questions. If you are preparing for GRE or CAT it would be much easier for you. If not just go online and solve some online tests.
Tips: Give some online aptitude test to improve your speed.
Duration: 45 minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Interview was conducted by panel of three. One of them was HR manager and other 2 were technical personals.  Interview was very friendly. They expected me to tell about my actual life and not what I had prepared to tell them.
Tips: Be yourself. Do not boast or cook things. They can cross check and catch you. Have some idea about company, their philosophy. Try to answer yourself how do you match in the picture. Explain them how it is good to have test of different things. You have to be clever for questions like future aspirations. Your answer should be logical and plausible. Be thorough about your hobbies. It is okay to have no hobby than cooking something on the spot.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Interview was conducted by panel of three. One of them was HR manager and other 2 were technical personals.  Interview was very friendly. I was shocked to get these many questions on my project and internship work. But it worked well as I had thorough knowledge about them. I answered all the questions correct except one about reducing CO and NOx. I was encouraged to think and answer again. They were happy as I answered it correctly later.
Tips: Be sure that you know nuts and bolts of your project work and Internship. They generally ask questions from topics you have mentioned on list provided earlier by them. It is better to accept your ignorance than fooling them; because you cannot. They don't expect you to be wikipedia.

Skill Tips: Be yourself! They are here to hire you and you need to give them a reason, why. Have clear idea about your projects and interns. Do not boast about your previous work. Take your time to explain your answers. And again be yourself! and All the best!!!
