TCS is not for those who have high aspirations, looking for luxury in life, always looking for growth and challenges If you are really good at coding, TCS is not place for you Getting right project is even more difficult than getting job in TCS

For an employee working in flexible timing to complete the task and the salary is too low. That is not the good part here.

Job security was good , I ended up on a banking project with no experience in Java, everything is mainly based on the project we’re we are getting tagged.Learning was good. The management gave access to work and use different tools and software’s. I was reporting at TCS Siruseri, the campus is like a dreamland. So many cafeterias most of them are good. Siruseri campus has a huge library in which I have never spent time. It has a modern gym , indoor and outdoor games. There will be a team outing yearly and end and it’s too based on the project.

The main thing that disappointed me is the salary and appraisals. As we were 3 members in the team and 2 of them were specialised in different tech, I was overloaded with the development work. I have worked overtime for nearly a year post lockdown and the management knows it well, I kept asking for one more associate to the team but they haven’t done any of the request which I asked them. Appraisal, We had no TL so we were in direct contact with the client. They know how much time I spent to keep things right and I was available on weekends to complete the project on time. During the time of appraisal I was very sure that I will be getting 4.5/5 rating but things didn’t went as I expected. I was given 4 I was disappointed in that, I went to the reporting manger and I asked the reason for it, he pointed another associate whom I had no contact with and asked me to check with him. When I approached him he said like I haven’t complete the mandatory courses so he reduced rating. First of all that guy don’t even know the work I have been doing in this team and all those over time . How come he can decided the rating. I was frustrated but I haven’t shown it. That moment I decided to quit TCS. I was thinking to get release from the project but i know it will never happen. So I prepared for a week and attended an interview got rejected in the first round. I prepared for an other week and got selected in a Service based Company. During 90 days of notice period 3 associates were recruited into the team, that was the request I made before. I have worked in 5 different tech tools I was preparing a document for each and every process. I was asked to train the new joinees. I trained them well in the first two weeks and shared all the docs which I had and enjoyed the rest of notice period.

If you are new to term IT this company is for you. It provides you platform to develop and learn skills if you are naive. Learning resources are abundant and you can learn at your own pace and time.

Dislikes

The compensation and hikes are very less. You need to crack Digital to get good hikes otherwise appraisal and bands are not as expected.

Salary hikes 4-7 percent, very poor for freshers No proper communication between managers on skill development, resource satisfaction etc. Please dont join in your early IT career
