...nts, now they are forced for medicals from TMH which is below par at Jamshedpur. Joining at other locations except Jamshedpur is somewhat better in terms of benefits like salary, mediclaims etc.

... is the worst dept out of all in terms of career, benefits worklife balance etc. Huge salary variations among same designation was pathetic. It all depends on how HR fools you during interviews for least salary showing Tata brand. Tata brand is the biggest caveat which ppl fall for. Tata steel is best for GET, MT etc. DO NOT join as laterals later in life. You'll suffer like anything thats for sure.

Very horrible condition. people are leaving company due to poor basic pay and lack of pay revision in company from last 10 years. Huge income tax deducted. Officers are expected to do each work in fraction of second. No protection/union for officers exists Bosses (Head/Chief)are now behaving like they are owner of the company. HR is sleeping in isolation making policies. Slow recruitment. 100% culture change . Now it is no more best place to work. it is worst place to work.

Zero forum (closed by MD) to discuss officers benifits with top management poor salary. huge tax deduction. Tata culture gone.

1. The culture is not the most healthy. Most departments work in silos and behave adversarially with each other. Sometimes the politics is too much. 2. The support functions (non production - such as IT, HR, F&A) have more people than necessary; as a result a sizeable portion of the workforce is under-worked and overpaid while a small minority is overworked (not underpaid though). 3. There is significant lack of trust between the management and the line (no one side is exempt from blame though) - leading to draconian policies such as (non - exhaustive list): a) forbidding employees to step out of campus for any reason whatsoever (except by raising a gatepass that deducts proportionate leaves); b) having to visit the company hospital for taking any sick leave (the service quality at the hospital is not state of the art and the doctors are extremely reluctant to prescribe sick leave ; once they do, you again have to go to the hospital to get a fit certificate) . Typically these policies alienate new breed of employees who do not feel inspired to go over and beyond what is strictly necessary.
