1. Average pay, but was a good paymaster 2-3 yrs back 2.Frequent re organization.Can result in new manager every 1-2 yrs. 3. Promotion and career progression is not transparent and fair.Favourism is clearly evident. 4.With respect to Data Science digital products very few products/solutions get deployed to end user.Most of them never go past POC phase. No streamlined process from development to deployment. 5.Average hike compared to product based companies.Expect around 7-10% yearly hike 6.Volatile Oil & gas domain.Company perfomance can have huge impact on the bonus payment which is part of CTC.0% hike & 0% bonus in 2021. 7. Not sood good coverage of health insurance provided

Large organisation / big brand Diverse business and people Good pay on paper Work life balance - depends on role or project to project

Dislikes

No vision in IT, leaders/managers are merely postman. Your growth and job security is 100% dependent on your leaders and 0% on work quality you deliver. I have seen absolute poor performers getting promoted and very good performers struggling to keep job during frequent reorgs. Lot of care / safety / people Dev only in powerpoint slides. They don’t act what they preach.

I think Shell is one of the best company in the world where you can upskill and improve yourself in every aspect. Company work culture and Policy for employee is very attractive. They really care for employee wellbeing and here Policy is not only on Paper. There is good work life balance in this company.

Advice for Career- New Offer vs current organisation

I got an offer from Shell, Chennai with a hike of approx 40%. But the current organisation offers the same CTC. Suggest, what should I do? The profile is completely changed from maintenance to Reliability. Should i change my home town state and join shell chennai or stay in the same organisation by accepting Hike? Current Organisation: Benefit: More savings, Near to Home town, will get promotion in 2 years, Disadvantages: More stress and Load. Working from long( 10 years) Shell Chennai: Benefit: No stress, less Work, Hibrid job and flexible time. Disadvantages: Location, language, Food( May be). Please suggest what should I do? Should I accept new offer and change job?
