Only Salary On Time.

I am going to write an unbiased review based purely based on my personal experience. It may be lengthy, so please bear with me. I have spent a significant amount of time in this company as a software engineer, making me eligible to share my thoughts. 1. Bare minimum facilities are also not given to software developer like Laptop. because of the strict work from office policy. 2. No annual bonus (which they promise in offer letter) has been paid since past few years. Every year, excuses are made regarding the company's performance. 3. A very strict work-from-office policy is in place, not allowing long leaves, even for "once in a lifetime moments" like marriage. 4. Most of the best engineers (seniors) from premium institutes left the company around covid times. No senior engineers have been hired in since then. also the company stopped recruiting from premium institutes, opting for interns from other colleges at minimum salaries, turning them into full-time employees. so tech team is running with few experienced team lead and all junior developers. 5. The tech team which work on an internal product has a hire and fire policy, frequent firings. Other technical teams are no better, with infrequent firings but inadequate salaries and excessive workload. 6. There seems to be a negative perception surrounding the idea of employees stepping away briefly to recharge. 7. Excessive micromanagement and lack of adherence to software development practices like Agile/Scrum which makes it difficult to learn along with work as everybody is pressurized to deliver the work in very less time than the actual time the work should take. 8. Higher management treat employees like machines, expecting them to work more than official working hours every day. 9. Working on weekends is considered normal in certain teams. 10. There is no career growth, no proper career ladder, and no fair promotion system. 11. Blame for everything comes to developer if something goes wrong. nobody sees poor planning, quality assurance etc. and developers have to toil for fixing it asap. 12. Sometimes irrelevant timelines are promised by managers/pms without any discussion about the technical complexities/feasibility of the work which makes it very hard for developer in achieving that. 13. Some individuals in higher technical management have been there for more than a decade, treating employees without empathy. 14. Due to the point number 7, new team members find it difficult to understand the code, making changes challenging as the code is gradually becoming tightly coupled. 15. The inability to hire senior engineers may be attributed to their significantly low pay scale compared to market standards. 16. Nobody talks about innovation/automation/tech hackathons. everyone is focused on just getting the work done due to pressure from higher management. 17. False promises are made during the appraisal cycle every year, which are never fulfilled. 18. Most teams work under team leads who are powerless in matters of bonus/increment, unable to voice their opinions. Almost everything is decided by existing people in higher management. 19. Switching from this company becomes nearly impossible due to a) excessive work on weekdays leading to exhaustion, b) frequent working weekends, limiting personal time, c) strict work-from-office policy making it difficult to attend interviews, and d) an outdated tech stack in the frontend not preferred by companies in current times. 20. If you join, you should be ready to give up on all your passion/hobbies/life-events/home visits/vacation, etc, and work day & night tirelessly not expecting anything in return apart from the base salary discussed because lot of people in higher technical management have done that already and expect the employees also to do the same.

On time salary. That's it. Nothing else.

Dislikes

How much ever efforts you put in or the quality of work you deliver does not matter in this organisation. Under the pretext of "cost cutting" managers fire employees whom they have an issue with. You will be asked to work over-time, extend because "work needs to be done", yet it won't reflect in your pay or appraisal. Even when employees leave, they shy away from hiring replacements and pile work on the existing employees.
