MoEngage was a fun-loving workplace with a great work-life balance, which I am missing in my current org. Apart from that Moengage works on cutting-edge tech stacks which helps employees to shape their careers in a better way. Anniversary celebrations and gifts on different occasions are always there for employees. Overall Moengage presents a very good work culture. Moreover, in the solutions team, everybody is really flexible, especially my manager.

The salary hike is a bit lengthy process and last year they did not give a penny as a hike.

Initially, I was impressed with MoEngage and my team (Solutions Engineering). However, over time, I've observed company's unique value proposition has become less distinct within SE Team. I am struggling to identify specific aspects of MoEngage in SE Team that differentiate it significantly from other companies. I won't recommend anyone to join atleast Solution Engineering team in MoEngage. It's a big NO.

I believe the leadership style of Head of Solutions Engineering is negatively impacting team morale and employee retention. Key Observations: 1. Lack of Impartiality: I have observed instance of favouritism and unfair treatment towards certain team members. 2. Poor Leadership Skills: The HOD struggles to effectively handle pressure, provide constructive feedback, and maintain a positive and supportive work environment. He has also been involved in body shaming, or passing racist comment on juniors/colleagues. 3. Negative Impact on Team: The current leadership style is creating a toxic work environment, characterised by low morale, lack of trust, and high employee turnover. 4. Ineffective Escalation Channel: HRBP is a good friend of HOD, I assume either of them have adopted each other 🙂. And the manager of HOD is too innocent to get swayed with his talks. 5. High Politics: Some IJP positions just seems to be formality, as the selection process appears to be pre defined or biased.

Promotions don't happen unless pushed and nudged from the employee end. Recognition and career progression initiatives from the management is pretty low.

Really good learning opportunities, as the company is in a growth stage.

Dislikes

Poor quality legacy codebase, and infra, leading to multiple issues. Different teams make changes that affect the core legacy systems, and cause stuff to break in production. Processes need a lot of improvement.
