Disgusting work culture. Too much politics at mid to senior level. You need to gang up to survive in this company. There is a condescending attitude towards new hires. They firmly believe that they are doing a favour to you by hiring you. They even cut your designation when hiring to prove as if they are some sort of God. The environment is like the movie Hunger games. If you don’t have support of the big group or some senior partner, even the smallest mistake will be viewed very harshly and rudely. They will create a situation where you will be compelled to resign. Everyone is in survival mode to protect the “partner compensation” during this current global economic situation. They will not bat an eye to give a poor rating to highly capable and highly experienced people on some silly excuse. Then they will claim that the person didn’t meet the performance standards. The entire 360 degree review system here is a facade. It can be manipulated to save you hide or send you to the gallows.

...re is impressive. And you can work in a very flexible setup. It is hybrid model. Free meal pass is provided every month apart from salary.cab pick up and drop available. Colleagues are fun and supportive.

Very competitive environment. Need to upgrade your skills to survive. Hike percentage is low on yearly basis.

...was just done as formality. Its more like a monopoly and leads are very partial. Compensation is way below the market standards.

For a fresher, it is advised not to start a career in Mckinsey because the salary would be way less than the market average. But for an experienced professional, the company will provide better package. Compare to other organization mckinsey will only be having 8 hrs of working( 7+1 ) Job safety and leave are one of the advantage Sodexo is an additional advantage

Dislikes

Career growth and opportunity would be slow. HR and management won't consider much about employee issues like long working hours ( work from home ), stressful work. Micro management can be expected from certain teams. For an experienced professional journey would be smooth compared to a fresher. Expense reimbursement of stakeholders roles doesn't have any career growth since the role is limited within McKinsey.

...ng transfer or country transfer during that time else switch to other companies. It offers better work-life balance compared to consulting but that comes at huge cost of compensation.

Dislikes

Do not mistake it for McKinsey. Firstly, your compensation is way below industry peers like Bain Capability center, BCG knowledge center, ATK PAJ etc. You will get a 10-15% performance and hike even if you do as well as consulting peers staffed onsite who gets 20-50% bonus and hikes. Secondly, it is a place full of politics specially when your manager is not serving clients and your team does not do right hiring. Full time manager has plenty of time to interfere in your work and tries to show that he is boss. Most of the time, these managers are people with below average degrees who were hired when McKC started and they do not expel anyone barring disciplinary issues and very poor performance. The mangers can not see you growing faster than they did which you can if you are doing really well and are in good books of manager. And the manager most of the time kills your work satisfaction and amazing experience that McKinsey can provide. It is the major difference between McKinsey, BCC etc. vs McKC other than compensation.
