IBM to KPMG, Should i make a switch
I am currently working as a delivery consultant in IBM(1YOE), which is a technical role and i want to make a switch into a non-tech Consulting centric role and have an offer from KPMG as an analyst, the salary hike is not significant but I want to make a strong profile for making it into management consulting firm later on in my life, should I be making a switch, or wait for any better opportunity as the growth in IBM is very slow and takes time.

1. Management is very bad in Transformation C& O - FS department 2. No Job Security 3. Only one client 4. if you are on bench they wont talk to you at all 5. Client is god. KPMG commit anything to client and let the candidate suffer

The constant change in clients and the variety of work is never boring

Dislikes

...t's a lala company all partners are mini lalas. No rules are applicable to them. Top heavy org and do not pay very well. The big 4 name doesn't fly anymore

Likes

Learning is decent as we used to work 12-15 hours a day and everything was priority task. So we were learning fast.

Dislikes

...each and every day, worked half my weekends and my managers weren’t still happy. Partner said that i should work because they are giving me more salary. Director asked me to work when i was on sick leave. Put down papers the same day i received an offer letter!

... If you close your system before 11 PM, it will be considered as a light day. Less pay and perks as compared to other big 4's.

Excellent place to learn culture of consulting organization. Employees get to work on wide range of strategic consulting projects and side wise also work on staff augmentation basis. Client Base is strong. Good work life balance.

Salary is not so competitive as compared to other Big 4s. Lot of focus is given to business development as deliverable even at junior position of consultant and assistant manager.
