It's a very good company to work for. Since it basically deals in the commercial vehicle domain (rail/truck), the technology doesn't change so fast. The employees work on same technology for years especially in the rail department. This becomes a drawback if you want to work on different technologies and grow your skills but at the same time it comes with a pro of job security since by working on the same tech for years you kinda expert that domain. As far as the compensation is considered, it's average, its neither on the high side nor on the low side. Competitors are providing more attractive packages as compared to Knorr Bremse Technical Center India Private Limited. I never faced any issues with the work life balance but this may be because of the team I am a part of and my manager is just great(not every manager can be awesome). Onsite opportunities are good for some specific projects and no travel opportunities for some other project so it all depends on the team you are a part of. The company was earlier in to providing it's services to it's client and had no product of its own but the time has changed now and the management wants in house product development with complete ownership and they are taking some serious steps for the same. If you are lucky enough you will get to work on complete cycle of SDLC but that depends on which project you are deployed. As far as politics is concerned, every industry has office politics, favourites of manager and favourites of Directors. So yes others who are not really good into making efforts towards building good relationship, might get a feel of wrath of office politics but it all depends on the person. Appraisal is good usually between 10 -15% depending upon your performance (and your relationship with your manager and directors 😉). I got a promotion hike of just 4% and that's disgusting.
