-Company offers various perks like food , fruits , door to door cab service, hybrid model
- Job security is there , company doesn't fire easily.
- Good learning is available but you will have to put in extra hours
- end to end responsibility is given for the items , juniors are trusted with new work.
...after my working hours i need to spend some alone time , will not be praised .
Over the years I have seen such principles followed in the company - pay 2-3 senior guys heavily so that they don't leave and hire freshers for 2 reasons 1) they are highly motivated 2) they can be easily exploited
Once you become a 2-3 years experienced guy , you will feel that you need your personal life as well and then when you start taking work life balance seriously you will see yourself not getting appraised anymore . So when you try to leave company will make you a few offers(that too with 2 years employment bond ) but eventually for every senior gone they will again hire a few freshers to exploit for the next 2-3 years
And this cycle goes on .
At start they will ask you if you are available on weekend and slowly after a few times they will put the work on mail without even discussing if you can work on Saturday or not .
- If you are good at work you wont feel insecure. Politics does exist, however based on your work you can be insulated of it.
- For a couple of years the knowledge learning curve is good. However, it is nothing complicated.
- The annual day gifts are cool. Though there is a discrimination between US gifts and Indian gifts, however the gifts are still cool.
- People who threaten to leave get promoted faster and get better hikes. When I was leaving the firm offered me better pay, I would have appreciated it every year rather then being considered after resigning.
- The work is mostly of process IT automation or data wareshouse migration. The work is what would be classified as mostly back office. The skills are transferable, however back office kills you slowly. It saps all your motivation. It is good for an IT guy, however people with interest in core finance it is better avoidable.
- Work life balance is on the negative side. The main problem is not the volume of work, it is the variance in work, and given all the clients are based in USA the timings don't work in your favour.
Products are developed using outdated language and architecture. Hence there is little scope for learning. Work pressure is very high. Appraisals are given to employees who are manager's favourite and burn midnight oil.
