Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

This was my fist job and worked there almost 8 years , joining as a Prod engineer and promoted to plant head by the time. At 2008 , global crisis started and hampered our business too badly. At that time I got an opertunity abroad.

Dislikes

Nothing I can dislike there. It was just like my first baby. But time was not good and I was looking for a growth which I thought abroad job can give me that opportunity to use my experience.
