Good work environment and culture, teammates are supportive, company policies are good, I develop my skills and learn many more things like molecular diagnostics, company culture is excellent, overall experience is good.

Management doesn't address our issues, salary is decent but career growth is slow.

ICMR-NIV, as it is a government organisation , only permeant jobs are secure, project or the contract staff doesn't have job security , work culture varies department to department . It is good for a fresher , they can learn many things and can build base for PhD especially through recommendation letters from scientists. If person wises to stay in academia NIV is the best place to be. To get on scientific cadre PhD is must.

As most of the job vacancies are project based , the tenure ends maximum by 3 years. Depending on department and funding agencies for project the salaries are sometimes irregular. If you are hired as a contractual staff , you do not have any benefits not even earned leaves (EL) there are only CLs which as 2 leaves/ quarter as well as contractual positions are not entitled for annual increment , hence the salary is stagnant.

If you are a permanent employee and someone looking to settle down at a place with a good work-life balance, then this place is for you. But if you're still in your initial years where you can experiment, then you should try other institutes

As a project employee, the scope of learning something new is very limited.

As of my experience u can develop your skills and learning here. And after completing your Project tenure, u have good career growth opportunities in private company as many company prefers candidate from ICMR-NIV.

Worst place to work, old style of beurocrite mentality

Its like a jail, they can't handle yong researcher, they don't have believe on employers, every where rule, rule and rules, scientist with old mentality, I have worked in Iict, NIPER, LIU SEWDEN, All these places were young researcher friendly environment. Here chikungunya department is worst department
