Work culture varies from team to team. HSBC is a bureaucratic mess. The management is clueless about what is happening and just throws around the latest buzzwords like a parrot There is a lot of scope to develop your skills and learn as there is no one here who knows anything and you yourself have to take up the initiative to do things

Compensation is poor There are no procedures in place to accomplish things but their feature list is too long, expectations are high and timelines are too tight

Highly structural and follow standards Pay hikes to be improved - very low compared to the market Struggle to get recognized over the departments - heavy politics No extra amenities provided

Good culture, learning and work environment. Lot of opportunities of land up in right team at right time.

Dislikes

...re is a lot of politics in some areas and management doesn't address our issues. Salary is decent but it depends on how well you represented across management by your leads. On the job new to domain, culture will take time to gel may be someone not used to will feel odd man out or process difference.

...k Life Balance. Company policies are also good, appraisals are fair and decent. They also give bonus every year.

Dislikes

As I was working in IT department of bank, the career growth is slow as IT is secondary to them. They are using lot of legacy technology and no one bother to adapt new. Job security is also not there at senior level and you could see pink slip if your role is redundant.

No salary hikes if you are joining as GCB 5 and above. Job cut was planned but due to high attrition that was somehow avoided as lot of people has already resigned. Work wise you will get good work if you are lucky to get one such project.

Dislikes

No salary hikes in 2021 and 2022 also very less hike.
