New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward
I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

Good for fresher. Nothing for experienced person. Only you will get good salary but without job satisfaction.

Dislikes

You will get disappointed after some time. when u joined as java developer, you will get work on datastage, mainframe where you don't have any interest. You will be killing the java profile. They don't have any project and not able to retain the existing one. Very volatile environment in terms of stability of the company. Be ready to work on weekends as well and in late night as well. You have to be on call for production issues 12/7 in a month or two.

*If you are mistaken single then you are getting targeted by your supervisors including your mates instead of supporting you. * work is more important as compare to health, if you are on sick leave with proper documentation still you are forced to resume leave and work.

Only thing which anyone can like here is no work load as such where you will say that I have got some work to do.

Dislikes

In terms of promotion you will have to compromise if you are specially in core technical profile, salary will also be less as per market standard. You will not be able to work on projects where you will learn a lot of technical stuff, most of those work will be given to US and Canada teams and here you will mostly work on tickets which will not give you a lot of experience in that particular technology. Company may fire or will ask you take exit especially if your salary is mostly above double digit.

Favouritesum castesam not good behaviour from the management deduction of salary and no increment and the call flow is on another level back to back calls.. no break approved till 10:30 if working in 5:30 shift that means you will have to work 5 hours without any break
