Salary on time. Many initiatives are faculty friendly like SCOPUS access, Coursera etc. Working in christ is hectic and restless.

No work life balance. if You can work tirelessly throughout college timing and after it then only think to join. seems working in a corporate with many and close deadlines. Restless job culture. Any work may come up in a day and it will spoil the day. You need not plan your day as you can not but the university plans for you. very tight monitoring and when it comes to appraisal they check everything. It is difficult for an employee to be good in all areas but they expect it from all employees. during holidays also, expect to work without compensation (Monetary or CL). Process-oriented university and everything comes to the faculty.

Work Stress is too much... especially for New joiners and Junior Professors. It will be very difficult to handle it for first few years. You will definitely end up in spending more on Medical. No Job Security. Even after getting confirmation, you may be asked to leave within 4 or 5 days (Based on the mood of your immediate reporting authority, the Head) Comfort Zone - if you started loving this environment, you will stick to it and will not move out. Everyone talks about research but they will not let you do it. They still think that research is your individual development but they will speak different. Its very difficult to upskill(to industry standards) yourself if you join here... you will not have time... and updated ones will not stick here. Holidays - Sundays and one Saturday in a month (Other Saturdays - Half a day working day)

Management imposes strict rules that are unethical. Students are given up to 70 percent marks as assignments, which they do with the help of AI, and the rest of the marks are given high by the faculty as the results could affect their image in department meetings. Staff members are micromanaged, and promotions and appraisals are given to people who belong to a particular religion. Gives a feeling of working in a corporate company rather than an academic space.

The only good part of working here is that the University pays slightly better than other private universities across the country.

I have worked at the Lavasa Off Campus of the apparent "esteemed" CHRIST University for over a year now as an assistant professor. The first thing that surprised me was its traditional approach to dress codes for both staff and students. Female teachers are allowed to wear either sarees or pants and shirts with blazers. Students are not allowed to wear jeans and tees except on Saturdays. The second drawback is the fine system that is imposed on the students for every odd reason. The students have to endlessly pay fines for several reasons the University deems as misconduct. Lavasa being a very unique geographical place for a University, it is highly difficult to sustain the learning and growth potential in the students and faculty alike. The rigid rules and regulations imposed on students and teachers in the name of discipline and decorum often deters them from achieving true scholastic growth as the teachers spend more time in disciplining the students on their behaviours and dress codes than in pursuing the actual goal of engaging in teaching and research. The third and the worst part of working at CHRIST University is the bad work ethics which expects and most often forces the teachers to engage the students from morning 8:30 am to evening 9-10 PM. The teachers are overburdened with administrative work which goes until 10 PM -12 midnight. Despite the efforts from the teachers, the Director hardly appreciates their contributions. Every General Faculty Meeting and Departmental Meeting will be designed to focus on the negative traits of teachers and the insignificant disciplinary issues of students and staff and one is made to feel like a recalcitrant child who has to be admonished time and again in order to make him toe the line. Besides, the politics among the faculty members is abysmal. The Malayali majority maintains and promotes nepotism and is corrupt to the core. The only thing that is appreciated here is mediocrity. Most staff members holding higher positions are the least qualified who have reached those positions through corrupt and devious means. It is quite difficult to work in such a corrupt system where the majority of the staff is manipulative, unethical, unprofessional and unempathetic.
