The culture of the company has changed and now works with a cost cutting mindset. Targets and work is very difficult to achieve unrealistic numbers are expected.

Likes

The pay package with what I was hired was good. Leaving bytedance was the best decision.

Dislikes

Literally everything. So much of politics. They keep hiring people who have no calibre and no knowledge and try their level best to keep them in the company. Good and hard working people leave as soon as they get to know about the office politics. No work life balance. Really toxic work environment. Senior managers are not even strong or eligible enough to make a sane decision. The harder you work the lesser you are paid and increment keeps reducing year after year.

...-Two appraisal cycles in a year- you perform well, you will likely get a hike -Spot bonus for best performance in a team/ department -If you're working in night shifts, you will get both side cabs. Early morning shift gets only pick up. -Night shift allowance- it can range from 300-500 per shift -It's not a typical office wherein you work in cubicles, you get your own work laptop and can work freely. -Reimbursment is pretty good, you show proof of purchase and company will reimburse you for accessories, table chairs, internet etc. P.S- ByteDance Gurgaon operates from 4th and 6th floor of WeWork Forum building, Cyber City.

Dislikes

Dangerous office politics- you will find yourself in treacherous waters. Tread carefully or else you may even end up a scapegoat for someone else's blunder. HRs- namesake morons, they hardly meet you. Forget your grievances, it goes unheard. Bottomline is, unless you work in the capacity of a manager, you are always at risk. If you intend to complain against someone in a higher position, FORGET IT.

Overall working experience is good, if the work location is also your hometown, else you’d spend a lot on accommodation and food. Also the perks are good at Bytedance

Dislikes

Salary Compensation- Your salary would be reduced on the Basic component and variable components would be more, HR’s would justify saying this is the company norms, “which is a big LIE” or a way to retain employees as when employees want to shift there hikes are based only on fixed and not variable. Yearly Hikes-Hikes are basic or bad at times but you get incentives which are part of your CTC and based on your performance they would increase from the base.
