Excellent opportunity to learn and company does support you a lot if you wish to expand your knowledge. Work culture is really good and people are very friendly and helpful. Really a great company to start your career with.

Dislikes

The only place BlackRock lacks is compensation. There is no difference between a good and hardworking employee and a non performing employee. This demotivates a serious employee and frustrates them to a point where they want to move to other organization.

Likes

Company Culture & work life balance is very good. You will get encouragement for creating connections inside & outside firm. Provide free food (negligible charges) for 4 star kind of food 3 times in day. Transportation facility is also good.

... so i was always in fear in my mind & because of this i didnt have mental peace. You need to pay more salary if you have extreme workload condition. Not suggested to join under any GIO team in BLK. Favoritism is stands tall than talent in GIO teams. HR & management needs to look into these issues that why lots of people left from BlackRock in very short span of time. Need to queried Asset & Cash team VP & directors that manager's not doing that job properly. You don't put all pressure on you last level employee, As a manager you need to take stands against other stake holders & you as manager need to absorb pressure rather than pointing out fingers to their own employee. I quit job solely because of managers & their favoritism. Overall organization is great but need to reformative & structural changes in GIO. These OFS culture is not at all matching with BLACKROCK culture. These teams are not align with BlackRock's culture. Simple words I can say in Hindi 'Name bade Darshan chote'

...s of seniority rather than the work that is being done and there is favouritism. Salary is below market standards as well.

...ll work life balance is good in company. Helpful people and environment to work. Pays salary on time.

Dislikes

Employee performance matters a lot and based on the performance review and ratings, one gets promotion or appraisal on year ends. Little bit of bureaucratic structure within the organization. Knowledge wise, growth is limited for an individual as each process is distributed to different teams. Job security is not guaranteed as senior management won't think twice before laying off from work. Even the best folks are fired if they failed to meet performance expectations.
