Barclays is a very good organization. In terms of compensation, job profile and salary.... However there are something has to be addressed regarding the management.

Dislikes

The leaders are used to use their positions and dominate the team members. They don't know how to behave, communicate and values of the employees. Instead of encouraging, advising and educating the new employees, managers are used to speak very harshly, rude behavior, shout at the employees like school or college environment feel like BPO industry not like a corporate bank there's no banking & corporate culture at all. These areas needs to be addressed. Barclays values are RISES - Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, Stewardship. But i don't feel these are utilizing by the leaders. Team mates are really good. But my manager is not good because his behavior is terrible...

...uldn't have imagined working so long for an organisation, but the fact is i did. It is one of the best in market which gives you good compensation, not just that it also gives you immense opportunities to learn and grow. Shit level of office politics, crazy favouritism, no growth opportunities, no hike and worst of all is management use pip as a tool to pressure employees to work extra and many time even without overtime pay.

... years. They get very less increment as compared to the one who are newly hired. I have been working in Barclays for more than 10 years still my monthly in-hand salary is less than 1 lac which is so much disappointing to me. Barclays values are just followed on paper and not in practical.

The office space is good, work is intresting if your teams works on solving for core banking technologies, pay is average but if you bargain hard there is a chance they might stretch their budget. Team cultures is pretty laid back with middle aged folks who want to settle in their roles.

There's a fair amount of office politics, people usually settle into their role and don't adapt quickly to new technologies and being a bank innovative solutions take a back step and all the soltions have to be vetted for security approvals
