Couple of good aspects - 1. If you are smart enough to not get penalized with extra work for the good work that you are doing, then work-life balance is good 2. Due to the inherent reporting structure, you get connected to higher ups in the organisation and are able to influence decisions sometimes

1. Personnel with penchant for smart work and showing results will get additional work and will be expected to pull the weight of non-performing team members. 2. Management is unwilling to take fast and data driven decisions - whether it's in the business or internally with regards to performance of processes or people. 3. Most decisions look like shooting from the hip, very myopic, tactical and operational. 4. The same exposure to higherups in the management backfires because a lot of times the asks from different people aren't aligned. 5. Similarly interpretation of the communication is different on different level sometimes leading to snowballing of some of wrong interpretations, the fires of which need to doused later on at different areas in the organisation
