Disappointing Interview Experience with D.E. Shaw

I recently interviewed with D.E. Shaw, and it turned out to be one of the most draining experiences I’ve had. The interviewer’s approach felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive, which made the entire process uncomfortable. At multiple points, the interviewer asked me to drop off the call, even when I tried asking basic questions about the designation, job description, and other details. After the interview, I found myself sitting there for a few minutes, trying to process what just happened. It left me questioning the overall tone and professionalism of the interview. Definitely not the experience I was expecting from such a well-known firm.

Dislikes

-The boss and the manager are very rude and mean. -The company has no proper structure -One employee/intern is asked to do work of 3 people. -6 days a week work -Bad manager. Talks in a very insulting tone. - Lack of empathy for employees - One mistake and the boss will insult you in-front of everyone - No employee benefits whatsoever. Would not recommend working here.

Working at this company was a terrible experience. There's no professionalism, no work ethics, and tremendous work pressure. They exploit interns with low pay and high expectations, expecting them to know everything. Personal growth is nonexistent, and management is poor and rude. It's a money-minded environment with harsh review sessions and zero recognition. HR is ineffective, and bosses are cruel and insensitive, constantly demeaning their employees. Special mention to Sayanee Kundu, *The OG VAMP*, whose behavior exemplifies why this workplace is so toxic and undesirable....Read More
