The Company being MNC has really good liberal culture. The Company provides work flexibility and hybrid work mode which helps a lot in work-life balance. Diageo culture believes in self governance therefore, no one will really poke into your work timings, or micro manage as long as your deliverables are good. Some departments have low rate of promotions however departments like Finance (especially for CAs) it gives great growth. especially, Company promotes IJPs which helps employees build there CV stronger. Company says very openly about premiumisation and selling quality over quantity. However USL's main product McDowell's no. 1 is not a premium whisky and while no. 1 is the most sold whisky in India, USL does not see a long future in McDowell's. As such it is closing a no. of factories and retrenching many workers. It even sold a lotof smaller less profitable brands. The overall strength of the company has been cut by 70% in the last 10 years alone and company closing so many factories with more in pipeline. As one of the senior managers put it USL leadership does not have a clue on what to do with iconic brands like McDowell's. As such if someone wants to have a company where they can work for more no. of years, they should look elsewhere as there is lot of uncertainty in Supply....Read More
