Less pay, zero growth opportunities for GETs and still being treated like kids. They sign bond for 4 years and let people sit idle to serve the bond. Terrible and horrible work life balance. Salary reduction and that too when you work for 10 hours a day. No overtime and too much intrusion in one's personal life from Boss.

When there are good projects it feels exciting to work. One shortcoming is that you will be given a same type of work you have been doing. No scope to learn more skills. Unnecessary deadlines.

The training the compny offered to graduate trainee was exhaustive & covered all aspects of plant design. The graduate trainee are having bond period of 5 years & bond amount of 5 lac. This is a security feature for the engineer & also a hurdle to aspirants who want to exit the compny for higher education.

Dislikes

There are large number of seniors and limits the promotion or growth in the company. The Appraisal system means nothing & favourism occurs usually. There is rarely any technicalities involved & mechanical process. Mentoring is an abstract concept & work load / targets are huge even for a trainee. Besides if one gets a option to work in head quarters he/she must welcome it. Working in HQ gives the priviledge over branch offices. Due to poor market scenario & scanty jobs, branch offices usually suffers the wrath of layoffs. Currently there more fishes and less food in the tank which creates huge pressure on the sales team of every company. Thyssenkrupp is very diversified in its business activities & engineering consultancy is a small part of it.
