The location is nice in terms of public transport connectivity, that is only the reason I joined.

Everything is terrible in this Kolkata unit. The people are awfully rude and extremely unprofessional and the management is very abusive. They have a chef called Madhumeeta who will freak the hell out of not only the staff but also the guests and then there is this Priyanka Aloowali who is abusive and will abuse each and everyone onpublic and national meetings. Work order is extremely disorganized and the general manager Dilip Mishra is a total coward who will protect himself by putting juniors in trouble. If you are looking for a transit job then this unit is for you but be careful, if you stay here for more than 2 months, you'll be in trouble. The sales team is led by a psychopath called Rakesh Mitra, a man of small stature but with an ego of an elephant, he is rude, arrogant and so full of hubris that it is not even funny, he presides over a department which has the unique distinction of having a 120% attrition rate, in any other decent organization a person like him would have been thrown out overnight but here he is feted for being abrasive and rude.. He is incorrigible to the point that people absolutely detest him, the only culture which is all pervasive in the organization is that of shouting , intimidation and belittling people and it shows in the numbers of the group, the amazing blindness displayed by the EDs to all of this is also noteworthy and worthy of their entry into the Special Olympics. The work environment at The Lalit is very stressful. Managers and owners often shout at employees, creating a tense atmosphere. This culture of passing blame means nobody wants to take responsibility because they fear being held accountable and possibly losing their job. Upper management often seems ineffective, more focused on pleasing the owners than solving real issues. Problems, like a non-functioning dishwasher, can go unresolved for months, which raises concerns about hygiene. Employees rarely receive appraisals, appreciation, or adequate leave. This lack of support and recognition shatters confidence, making it hard for people to move on to better opportunities. Many stay for years despite being unhappy because they doubt their abilities after constant criticism. The owners appear out of touch with employee needs. During the pandemic, salaries were reduced significantly for an extended period, unlike other companies that resumed normal pay sooner. Public image seems to matter more to some owners than genuine care for employees' mental health. Despite these issues, working at The Lalit can teach you what to avoid in a future job.
