It's a good place to get experience on the ground reality of the system and understand better.
Dislikes
The work life balance is terrible, lots of and lots of unnecessary tasks and the stipend is barely enough to survive.

Spending time with the kids, feeling like you are making a difference. Most people are absolutely amazing and helpful. Personal growth in terms of overall personality, confidence, people skills are addressed, but greatly differs from person to person. Work hours are average provided you can prioritise and manage your time well.
Dislikes
TFI draws in young students and professionals through skilled marketing. While making a difference is certainly a reality for the people who join and gives a sense of accomplishment, professional growth takes a backseat. There is zero development of hard or technical skills undertaken by TFI.
If you're a fresher joining TFI and arehoping to move into an area other than social work post your fellowship, it will be incredibly hard if not impossible. Despite the impression that TFI looks good on a resume, ground reality is very different. The internships TFI speaks of providing are all related to social work and offer no opportunity to develop any sort of technical skills, even something as basic as Excel. Job opportunities post Fellowship are also limited to social sector.
Apart from diminishing future prospects, the salary provided at TFI is extremely low when the amount of work being done is considered. Financial independence is hard to get. Apart from this, after the training period, TFI offers no support to Fellows in terms of residence, transport, childcare, insurance or anything else. Granted, it is an NGO, but such support for at least a week or two would be reasonable, especially given the stressful nature of work.

I would suggest joining TFI only if you've had some years of work experience before the Fellowship so that you can switch easily after the 2 years are over. This is if you're planning to move back into the non-social work field. However, if you plan to stay in social work, TFI is a good option to consider....Read More

If you like teaching, you get to teach in classrooms and they will help you with how to teach.

No personal life as no time available for yourself. No autonomy in classrooms. So much pressure and too much interference.
