I had the opportunity to work for sunshine for a very brief period of time and I'm grateful for the opportunity. here are a few takeaways from my time there. Take it with a pinch of salt as I was only there for a very short period and I honestly couldn't take it any longer. Writing this after almost a year of getting out. Pros: These are subjective to me 1 - I was given a chance to work, without any work experience and my degree was still ongoing at that time 2- I can tell you that only one of the higher management strives to make a better work culture at sunshine. since it is only one person, they are mostly outvoted. This particular person observed that I hold more capabilities than my work role and handed more responsibilities and a slight pay raise within six months of joining for which I didn't receive any formal communication which is again a waste for me...Read More

Dislikes

Firstly, the company lacks diversity. you can find that most of the employees, at least at my time there are either close relatives, friends of management or references from the existing employees. This paves the way to a lot of favoritism and I face slight caste discrimination as well, Which is sad in today's world. Secondly, If you are working for sunshine, please prepare to have your self respect tarnished. There are a lot of internal politics within the mid management and the higher management are blissfully unaware of this drama. Not to mention, there is no proper collaboration between departments and you'll most likely be exposed to inter team conflict more than once. I saw people go on yelling matches in the office more than once. Thirdly, and this might seem funny, I didn't know that other organizations employees can take breaks other than a lunch break until I got out of this organization. mind it that this is my first job. You'll be handed a tea or coffee two times a day to your desk but that's about it. Mid management will have a serious problem if you sit out for a while and believe it or not, I was literally called out for talking to a colleague (who is a guy) I feel weird for stating it even, for 20 mins well within my lunch break. one of the higher management, (Cannot name them for obvious reasons) observed it on the CC Camera and called my manager to complain. I wish they had better things to do. Fourth, I was called rude for speaking in English by the newly hired CRM assistant manager. It was so funny that she judged me and took offense for the very skill they hired me for. and anyone who knows me understands that I refrain from having a rude conversation. Fifth, I was not given my exit papers, which is okay because I didn't serve my notice period. They denied to pay for the last month I worked there which was 20 days of my salary out of sheer anger. Final Takeaways: This is a very personal experience, But all the cons were deal breakers for me and I felt that my capabilities were working against me in that company. If you are someone who can tackle these, sunshine will prove to be fruitful for long term collaborations. They don't let go of people who proved themselves that easily.
