Have a great client base and work was good.

I was a freelancer with pepper for three years. The thing I disliked is that they would ask you to leave all of sudden. I was pregnant and on bed rest when my creator account got locked and after that there is no response from them. it was very weird and unusual on their part. Also they don't respond to your requests.

Projects sometimes do not have editors, there is a lack of communication between the Pepper team which creates problems for freelance writers, and no appraisals. I recently worked on a project where the client kept micro-managing us and asked us to increase the word count to nearly twice the actual figure -- at no extra pay. They disguise freelancers. They promise to give good amount as compared to others in the industry but fail to provide enough work to the freelancers to earn. Communication is pathetic...there is literally no manager or lead is allotted to the freelancers..so that they can reach the concerned person for ant query or problem. Delay inpayment...it took 2 months to release the payment of three articles. Over the course of 6months they allotted just 3 articles. Not a promising company to work with....Read More

The best thing about Pepper is there is no office culture or politics you have to face. The only thing is convenience and freelance work type if you want to work can work if you don't want just stop doing. They will pay only when you will work.

The list is endless 1. They offer you a particular pay rate like ₹1.2 per word but in reality they give you ₹0.8 per word. 2. All are freelance position so there is no security. 3. The worst part is they give the money almost after 45 days officially (in 2023). There is no guarantee that even you will get the money because even after client approve they put in on hold for unlimited times and thus I lost 94K. This is of a total of three months money. There is no point of contact and the issues remain unresolved for months. It feels like one is talking to a bot with an expected sort of responses. The payment cycle is after 45 days and the writer only gets paid if the client approves the content within the cycle. The payment is uneven and they manipulate the prices. When I joined Pepper Content about two years ago, they were a very good brand. They use to provide assignments on time, the work was reviewed and submitted to the client on time, who in turn approved it within 1 month of submission. Hence, the payments also came within the window. The management back then was quite good.

Since the start of 2023, the company has provided poor support to the writers and editors. First, the client can request as many edits as required so the work gets stuck in revision cycles. Then, there's no time limit on when the client should approve. I have assignments that were submitted 3 months ago but the client has not approved so I haven't gotten paid. Job security. They laid off 50+ employee without any prior notice, after this event which shocked every individual in the organization, more than 50 employee resigned because there are no job security. They are planning to lay off few more by September'23. The company will be bankrupt soon, they have no major clients with them right now. Investors are pulling out and people stopped trusting them.
