1. There are interesting B2B clients. 2. You will learn to multitask 3. You will get good speaking opportunities in meetings. 4. Access to great digital marketing tools. 5. One can skill up significantly in all areas of the digital marketing field. 6. Salary is paid on time.
1. Overburden of work. You may want to cover it, but you can't. 2. One person is expected to attend meetings, create articles, topics, webpages, optimize social media, develop new marketing strategies, create calendars, post blogs, manage social media posts, update all sheets regularly, enter timings in Clockify, and handle dozens of other tasks. 3. Seniors are very rude and criticize you on a personal level. They tell you to be independent and take responsibility for your projects, but if you do things on your own, they point out mistakes and insult you for not asking them. A simple mistake in drafting a message is treated as a serious blunder. 4. The seniors themselves make many mistakes but like to point out only the juniors' mistakes. 5.All employees are afraid of the Canadian team and the messages they drop on Basecamp. The Indian team has to follow all the orders. 6. There are many leaves available, but they criticize you if you use those leaves regularly. 7. If the Canadian team messages for an urgent task at 12 am, you may be flooded with messages to do it. Working at odd hours is normalized. There is no work-life balance as you are always thinking about what emails the Canadian team will send you.Working overtime is normalized and appreciated. 8.Managers and the Canadian team can insult you to the point where you might cry and want to resign.You will get up at night to check emails. Work anxiety will ruin your personal life and health.They expect a single person to handle work beyond their potential. 9.The 11 to 8 timing doesn't allow you to do anything else. 10. Everybody at the place is frustrated with other team members. There is always a state of doing things urgently in the office—for completing work, replying to messages, attending meetings, and everything else.The work environment will pressure you to the point where you will hate your job. 11. The timings are not suitable. The Indian team works from 11 to 8, and the Canadian team joins at 6 pm. This means you may have to work overtime to connect with the Canadian team. Most emails are received after 6 pm, and after logging out at 8 pm, you are constantly checking emails from the Canadian team, which they send at night IST. Work timings should be adjusted accordingly. 12. Every now and then, there is a new sheet to create or new tasks to handle. A person can't give their best when they are stuck in meetings, updating sheets, and handling other tasks. 13. So many employees are leaving and new are joining. This constant cycle hampers stability. 14. You can't even avail sick leaves in probation period( 3 months). If you do it's leave without salary. 15. They send outdated and slow desktop to you with faulty headphones, two monitors and i3 CPU. 16. There are trackers in your desktop as they can't stand if you're not available for even a minute in between 11 to 8 pm. They call your from breaks to attend meeting. 17. You have to officially notify powercut, system restarts, internet issues. You may have to work to compensate if you didnt work in that time with over time or leave. But if you over work you dont get any rewards. 18. No one appreciates your good work and hard work. Zero appreciation for your work. But, mistakes are highlighted. 19. You will wait whole year for a very average minimal hike. 20. The Canadian team that interacts with clients and on boards them thinks india team who is working on SEO, content and design is incompetent. I am enjoying my work here at Owen Media and also the work timings come with a proper Work-Life Balance. 11-8 Timings helps me to finish all the house hold tasks in the morning and i get a proper time in the evening for all the other activities.

They give salary (only because they have to)
1. Work during meetings: Just before the meeting they assign tasks and they expect me to work in background even during meetings. Right after meeting they ask why the work is not done by now. This happens every now and then. 2. Enormous amount of tasks, all are on priority: They expect 5 people's work from 1 and keep pinging you. They themselves knows that the work is undoable in such short timelines still they force you. When you try to expedite, errors happens, and for that, they shoot mails. 3. Terrible tracking: They don't care about your health and expect you to work continuously. If the tracker score goes down then you are in trouble. 4. No scope for idea generation or brainstorming: The amount of clerical work is just too high that you can't invest time to think about your project's growth. You are always stuck preparing sheets, reports and data entry. Eventually, they will blame you when the performance goes down. 5. Uncertain environment: You never know when they will fire you. It happens mostly right before the appraisals. They fire someone to cover up the losses they are probably bearing due to their wrong decisions. In such a company - expecting work-life balance, a better future, perks, increments, growth etc. all are just myths. Work-Life Balance: Extremely poor Senior won't allow you take a day off, even if you are sick. Senior asked you to join after taking medicine. And if you ask for 2-3 day leaves for any trip or personal work, seems like you ask for their life and they try to force you to work on your phone and be available on phone. They expect you to work whole day and night otherwise you will get "PI email" or might get terminate also. Salary & Benefits: Only salary on time, no benefits at all Promotions/Appraisals: They give you promotion and continuously overburden you with responsibilities but WITHOUT appraisal and any monetary benefits. After COVID, they keep delaying appraisal and keep pressurizing you till you leave the expectation of getting appraisal or the company. NICE STRATEGY of cutting down expenses and increase the appraisal of few managers and promote them for no reason. Medical Insurance/Claim: Previously they update the insurance every year from Oct-Dec but now from last 2-3 years they don't update their insurance timely. From last year(2023). they didn't update medical insurance till date(June 2024). Hope you can understand at what level and cost they try to save their expenses. Job Security: NO JOB SECUIRITY. They can fire you with minimal mistake or no mistakes as well. Skill Development/ Learning: They give you full freedom for skill development. You have all your time after attending at least 10 meetings a day, few scolding calls from seniors, few discussion calls for negative review and putting 5 star review on Company reviews websites. Work Satisfaction: 0/100 Due to that I am leaving this company any time soon Company culture: I am literally out of words to express my feeling how great culture of this company HR scheduled recurring meetings on every 2nd FRIDAY to boost mental health and reduce some work pressure. Company culture is awesome, leave policy is good, the company throws in some benefits in kind on occasion/event-basis. The working hours are strict 9 hours day shift, which is great. The people working in the company are highly knowledgeable and behaves good with everyone!
The company has a growing encouragement for micromanagement. The company fires every now and then. The job security at Owen Media is a disappointment. The HR is strictly bound to the higher management and takes instant action if the higher management insists on doing so.
