The worst place to work. It looks all fancy from outside but the job profile is worse than that of a clerk and targets are ridiculous. They won't think twice before firing you. There have been instances where people have been fired at work for a trivial mistake that should get a second chance. They don't value their employees at all.

Dislikes

Even a person who isn't a lawyer can do the job. It's mechanical and doesn't require any brains.

I am not someone who likes to write and share reviews. Once I leave a Firm, I remember it both for the good and not so good experiences. But seeing so many negatives, made me determined to write one. I like Novus for its respectful, ethical, professional, woman friendly, safe and secure environment. This place expects you to work hard and prove yourself. There are targets and deadlines and one is expected to deliver. If you do your work on time, your quality and productivity is fine and are not making repeated errors, work what is assigned then you shouldn't have any problem in working here. Yes, the work is monotonous and clerical but that's what document review is. Novus build story for pre trial purpose for the clients and that is done by reviewing/ tagging the documents. So, if you think you want to use legal knowledge in work then this not for you. It's a non-legal job for legal people. And you don't need to have legal knowledge. I liked the administrative department and the global team/ management and others. The HRs are helpful. They are just doing their job and if you do your work in a fine manner they would not have any issue with you. You can have one on one with the management also in case of any issue or if something is troubling you. And, I disagree with other's comments on hire and fire policy. They give multiple chances before firing. They would even call to discuss the problem areas and would understand if their is something troubling you. If you are ready to work and improve they would never fire you. And, if you act up or show attitude and are not sincere with your work and behaviour then they will definitely would mark you red. Their leave policies are amazing. The salary is always on time. Salary is decent enough. I didn't face any issue with the SD leads . They are biased to their favorites employees but that would not hamper you much coz, it's unfortunately, human tendency. I found them approachable and helpful. But again, they have their special picks too so expect less. If you work well- appraisal is always done. But never expect coz you will be disappointed. As the work is monotonous there is stagnancy. However, you can work with ease and not stress much about memorizing anything or using your brain much as every instructions and guidance is provided. You can raise queries. The US counter parts, in my experience, were friendly and nice. But each to their own. Just do your tasks, complete your time, try to maintain quality above team (difficult but doable) then you are sorted. Don't indulge in any gossip or unnecessary conversation....Read More

It's your colleagues that you have to be wary of. Some of them are real snobs and feel like that they are the queens. But they are just sad people having nothing in life but to butter -up management. I could name so many of them. The environment is super competitive in terms of productivity and target. Some idiots, who just want tobe in good books of mangement and has no life, over do their targets, sit beyond 9-10hours just to be on the top. This is creates toxicity and should not be endorsed or praised,which unfortunately is very much appreciated by the mangement. Even if you do your work with 100% dedication, complete your targets on time, maintain your quality, there are some queen bees who sit all night and just to put themselves on higher pedestal do more than required or asked. This should be banned but instead is appreciated. TOXIC! Their office fun - time/ event is so unnecessary and forceful. Most People dislike it. Fun sessions should be fun not stressful. It's not a bad place to join but be ready to always be on your toes and up game coz 90%quality would also be not appreciated if team has 91% average. Competition is cut throat or rather has been made so by few people. Hindi is banned. Nothing but English is used for communications. So, forget being informal. Beware of some female colleagues - they will complain anything to the the Directors. And, most importantly -all the Managers, have 100% quality always as they never send any quality error to fellow manager - it's an unsaid pact. This helps them maintaing their quality on record. Very Professional, well defined processes and excellent training programme. A dedicated mentor helps one transition through the initial probation phase and throughout ones career cycle in Novus, there are ample opportunities for one to develop and hone their skills and rise in the Firm. During lean phase, time is invested in constructive activities and competency development. One of the best places to work where everyone is treated respectfully and recognised for their contributions in both tangible and intangible ways. Management is easily approachable. The facility is very well maintained and provides a very niche environment to work. One thing is that they are extremely focussed and particular about the quality of work and discipline which at times becomes overwhelming but to build a world class culture where one thrives to work, some element of discipline is paramount and I have nothing against that. During my career at Novus, I have learnt a lot. I had to leave after the birth of my child and am currently not working. However, if I ever plan to resume my professional career, my first choice would be to reconnect with Novus. There are at least 5-6 colleagues whom I know have re-joined the Firm after long breaks and the Firm has welcomed them. The only thing I disliked was the 6 days working week though at times we were not required to work Saturdays. One was never expected to work long hours and the expectation was just to complete 8 productive honest hours each day. Yet, a two day weekend would have created a better personal/professional balance.
