I do 12 hour shifts I release the night shifter worker, I have to check the audit reports and make sure there isn't any kind of mistake on them. I then check the tile from the night shift. Then I check on that days check ins to make sure everyone have a room and has been posted. Then I check emails and return phone calls to anyone that has called before I came in for the day. I also check to see how many outstanding invoices there are, and send out reminders to those that haven't come in yet. I check to see if laundry needs to be done, if so i wash, dry, and then fold. After that is all done then I answer phone, check in guest, and also check on online pricing for our hotel to make sure that we are well within our rate. I have learned how to do a lot of multitasking, Also how to work alone and how to get the most out of my time. I learned how to write up invoices and how important it is to make sure that they are all posted. I also learned how to make Group reservations here at the hotel. For a long time there was just two of us, so I learned that YOU have to be reliable for the owner. My job is very easy I don't find any of it hard. I have been working at this same hotel for years and even when it was sold. Me and the new owner got to know how to work off each other.
