You get to work on different matters which gives you knowledge about different aspects of taxation. However, that is only possible in offices in Delhi/Mumbai. Rest offices mostly have repetitive work.

Long working hours. Too much stress upon administrative work like uploading your drafts (4-5 times) Lack of transparency in performance appraisal and promotions. Compensation not in consonance with the efforts you put in. No job security. Juniors are not given an credibility/respect. Too much micro management.

I really like the work culture LKS has. I see no politics when it comes to distribution of work. Also, your issues are not just heard but get solved in time.

Everything thing. Worst work culture I have seen. Politics is on next level. People how have a loan or need to pay rent don't join this organisation because you don't know which day will be your last day. Salary increment is so poor, if you work more than 12hr a day and if you work sleepless then they might give you 5% otherwise normal increment range is 2-3%. The quality of clients and work in taxation, and finding a great group of peers.

Dislikes

The pay is not good, and there is a need for better managers in the firm. There's no feedback mechanism. The work life balance is only slightly better than Tier 1 firms (don't fall for the propaganda), and the pay doesn't compare at all. If you stay too long, you'll get stuck in the very niche area of work of indirect taxation.
