Dislikes

The annual rating process is totally disturbing. After giving your best through out the year you will be given lesser rating than some people who have just come to office and sit. Your work will be appropriated verbally wherever you are required to complete some job, but all your efforts will be forgotten when it's the time of appraisal.

There is nothing to like about such a horrible organization that only focuses on business and not even a little bit about employee satisfaction and healthy work culture.

I can't even count. Everything is bad at L&T Construction. No work-life balance, office politics, salary not as per the work company make you to do. 1. The senior managers only want work as per irrelevant deadlines and don't even try to understand how much time is required to do a particular task. 2. The contracts team takes projects from clients by promising impractical timelines due to which pressure is created on the site team and the employees get harrassed. 3. The material procurement process is too complex due to which material is not received at the site timely and when it is received, the project manager wants progress immediately. No one is ready to see the fault of the coordination team and all work pressure falls upon the site execution team. 4. If an employee wants a leave, even for a week, senior managers always deny it and say "Currently there is work pressure, plan for some other time". After completion of work, another work comes and the same thing is repeated. There is not a single time in the project when work pressure is not there. 5. There is strict in-time at the office and no out-time. Minimum out-time is around 08:30 PM but Out-time depends on the work target for the day and there is no compensation for the extra time an employee spends. 6. Appraisal is given to the person who is a sweet talker with the project manager and the one who stands for the right thing, his rating is degraded and his whole year's hard work goes to waste. 7. An employee is forced to work even on Sunday and if he denies it, he becomes wrong in the eyes of the project manager and his rating gets affected due to this. Compared to other construction companies,L&T's credibility is much better and employees are treated with respect and there are proper SOPs within which facilities are provided to the bachelors as well as the ones with families.

Dislikes

Extremely complex and complicated EIP and corporate procedures which delay work immensely.In fact there are many such documentation works which are part of the procedures but in reality those are not necessarily needed.

Proper way of working in all aspects, Decision making, Maintains the machinery & assets to perform the work, Proper cash flow b/w all stakeholders. Good support from Seniors international of work.

Salaries on time but Performance bonus is 3 months delayed It supposed to come in July months salary but It comes in Sometime September or October. Having big projects hence u will get more exposure to learn the things which develops ur confidence. System of handling vendors and procurement process are very nice. Payment of vendors good but sometimes delayed .

Dislikes

Strict timings, No Sunday rest , including holidays working. Promotion get delayed. Their performance rating system are very bad and generally PM doesn't follows the fair rating system. Execution peoples doesn't feel empowered to take any decision regarding vendor mgmt. Person growth are very slow and huges gaps founds in salaries and benefits in same cadre due to performance rating.
