Working as a crew member with IndiGo during the initial days was an exciting experience, particularly because of the international layovers. Each layover presented fresh opportunity to explore new cities, indulge in different cuisine and immerse myself in unique cultures.
I would like to express my concern regarding the current work condition for the crew at IndiGo airlines which I feel is not employee friendly . The demanding flight schedule, especially with three long consecutive long duty days, are taking a significant toll on both my physical and mental well-being. The workload is increasingly difficult to manage and lack of support and consideration from management makes it even more challenging. It feels crew members are not given the necessary attention or respect they deserve, which is affecting morale and overall job satisfaction. I believe it’s essential for management to prioritise the well being of the crew as a healthy and supported team is key to the success of the airline. 1) Leadership capabilities - Many so-called leaders who have been with 6E for almost more than 10+ years, are stuck in 2000's era mindset and are more focused on playing internal politics. They maintain their own circle of favorite employees, who often act as informants or Naradmuni. 2) Job Insecurity - Despite you perform well there is constant threat of loosing your job. HR is more inclined towards you leaders and may kick you off anytime by listening your manager silently. 3) Biased and non-transparent, unethical HR practices - Your performance evaluation is more defined by your manager opinion, if you are out of sight from his favorite circle then you might be at risk. Despite how talented you are or whatever you have delivered with best quality, will not get considered and HR can remove employee quietly without fair consideration. 4) Leadership unawareness - CXO level leaders in the IT department are often occupied with Conferences, inaugurations, pre-occupied meetings or making video or YouTube content. They seem unaware of the challenges within their own department and totally relaying on senior leaders in Digital department. There is no reach till bottom level employees and their struggle, internal politics and Favourism. Reaching out to them concerns nearly impossible. 5) Difficulties in changing the departments - It's really difficult to change the department despite you see any OPEN positions within the organization. Your manager will allow you to leave the organization but will not release or provide an approval for changing the stream or profile. 6) If you are planning to join from reputed IT organizations or MNC's then please rethink twice whether to play above experiments with your career or not. As per my observation most of the new employees use to make resignation within a year or 2 years from 6E because of above unethical practices.
