3% - 4% increments irrespective of how much you have worked. Peanuts could have been anything, yet it became a bonus in HDFC Bank. Manager’s favourite will get the ratings because of obvious reasons. Bank is in cash crunch, hence, no budget, minimal increments or bonuses. Bank is struggling to get CASA to improve deposits. Bad phase for the Bank. Leadership (C1 and above) is clueless how the bottom level D3-D4 Band people are abusing their power, manipulating system just to stay in good books of upper management. Going forward, these people will run the Bank and will suck out the blood. Great place to Work -Bank has it, but it is a scam. Run away!! HR of HDFC bank lives in a delusion, they are exploiting the manpower by not giving justice to the effort and their salaries. The industry average is almost 100% higher than the salary they provide. And, with 3-4% increment, you will never beat the inflation. So salary wise - A big NO!! For ex:- AVP (D1 Band) salary in the Bank can go as low as <20 Lacs (almost 15+ years of experience). There are many such as- Visionless leadership Rigid & Hirerachichial mindset Most of the Senior old horses are too conservative, good at only blocking things and not employee centric. HDFC has legacy systems and the desire to change is lacking. Senior Management is more concerned about BAU and not looking into revamping the systems. Most of applications are using irrelevant products licensed at exorbitant cost. Managers want to hire vendors from a particular vendor partner even when the resources are below average..

Large organization with loads of smart people. Lots of peer to peer learning. Compliance oriented and focussed on building great quality products.

Dislikes

Facilities are not that great, laptops, internet connection, support on gettig setup to work is slow and sad. My bosses are great but I have seen toxic culture in other teams.
