Work environment depends on the department and attitude of boss. There is no specific culture. Teammates are supportive in some of the department and the management claims as transparent. There is a huge cafeteria. Company policies, appraisals, salary hike and performance linked bonus, all these depends only on the equation with boss, not on the capability and actual performance.

Dislikes

There is a lot of politics and the management doesn’t address our issues. Salary is decent but career growth is purely dependent on the equation with boss. There is no minimum qualification required for a particular job profile.

Work Details

The job has been quite interesting till 2017. Till that time, I have added value to the company and learnt new things while in job. After that, it was quite monotonous.

The productivity and efficiency on show in this company shall remain unmatched in the country. The camaraderie shared by the employees and the attitude to help others professionally and personally, whatever the problem be, is stupendous. The icing on the cake is the employees' housing colony, HREL, which makes you feel as if you are in a foreign beauty land.

Dislikes

Job tends to be monotonous after, say, 5 years of experience. Challenges seem to repeat themselves over and over, and you tire doing the same job day in and day out.

Few employees are supportive. Good access to senior management at plant. Management is supportive when employees are in distress. Salary/ benefits are good and at par with industry. Township is good. Good terminal benefits. Openness to learning.

Inadequate medical infrastructure. Nepotism. Some people have the tendency to 'stab from back'. Poor promotion policy. No functional training is given as per requirement. No scope for sponsoring higher studies. Discrimination with old and sincere employees. Weak HR policies. No sanctioned vacancies in any department. No appreciationfor real good work. No transparency in recruitment of experienced persons. On line systems are complicated. So many DGMs, GMs, SGMs, CGMs, very uncommon in industries. Very high attrition rate.
