The compensation for the lack of work life balance simply doesn't make sense. If an employee is going out of their way to devote 12-14 hours per day, which most editors and stakeholders do the monetary benefits should be designed in a better way.

The mentorship given by the department is a convenient way to establish control over your writing. They will ask you to change your writing style frequently to meet the unimaginable demands.
