I have worked for Eskom for 31 years it was one of the best companies to work for. This all changed when we became a Government owned company and corruption started to creep in and today Eskom is technically bankrupt.

Dislikes

I was a proud guardian of Eskom but all has gone wrong. The new builds are in such a mess and our old plants are not looked after. The workmanship and the ownership of your plant does not exist anymore...

At this stage its like killing fires we have a big workforce but all on the wrong areas. We need technical skilled people to tackle the issues at our station. I am busy helping with legislative training and Simulator training

Compensation is good, but growth is slow as the company is trimming down on resources. Due to the moratorium of not replacing vacancies, teams are tasked to achieve with lessor human capital.

My work is challenging and exciting, as a Senior Finance Manager I continuously have to advice and guide teams on financial matters. I promote and drive effective and prudent spending of budgets and cash outflow within the 2 Operating Units.
