Everything that was good about Dell ended 2 years back. Nothing is good now.

No job security- frequent layoffs. They want to chase off people and not give severance, so they are trying everything in their power to make the employees more miserable and feel tortured from 5 days a week policy and no promotions. And from what I have heard extremely low or negligible salary hikes. The culture is extremely bad for a long term perspective and would take a toll on your mental health. The work that they make you do is dated and not industry relevant. So don't join dell unless you want to spoil your mental health and career....Read More

Management who is sitting for a long time do any kind of politics to keep the strong hold hence only they grow and not others. Growth is very very difficult. This also makes work culture toxic

Doesn't matter how much you work no promotion/Appraisals. I know people waiting for promotion more than 6 years. They change the working model as they please. Change you career path if they want position to be filled. If you stay long in the company looking for a new job will be a nightmare because you'll lose confidence in your own knowledge. STAY AWAY

Job security: Dell recently layed off more than 12000 employees and may cut down more head count so it's job security is a major issue. Salary: Salary is little below market standards. Appraisal/promotion : Once you reach to principal engineer position, promotion seems like an alien concept because 1 in around 30-40 principal engineer gets promoted to Sr principal level that too after ATLEAST after 10-12 years working as a principal engineer. Skill development/Learning : NO Scope whatsoever for new learning. Most of people who left there jobs recently were due to lack of opportunities to learn new skills and were bored/tired of working on the same things for years. So if you have a hunger to learn new things, Dell is certainly NOT a place for you. India culture is really sad at Dell tech. Too much of racism , regionalism . They preac over ethics and compliance and force us to do the training every year but the fact is regionalism happens here so openly and HR are like of waste who are agents of upper management. Upper management itself is the main reason of this regionalisms
