My experience at Baylor was not particularly favourable. Nonetheless, the experience can vary greatly depending on one's guide or mentor. While there are some good people, they are in the minority.
Dislikes
People at Baylor are not very supportive and helpful. There are several departments and programs available for postdoctoral fellows at Baylor to provide support, but the experience has been frustrating. Instead of receiving the help I needed, they were just being passed around from one person to another without any resolution. Ultimately, they stated that everything depended on the decision of the Principal Investigator (PI), no one else was available to offer assistance. Additionally, the policy, especially regarding benefits, is not to the individual's liking. For instance, Baylor made it mandatory for postdoctoral fellows to choose the most expensive benefit plan. Dr Hemant Roy (Department of Medicine) is the worst PI at Baylor. His lab and its people are very toxic....Read More
