Avalara was an awesome company when I had started to work. Eventually it has just became like other MNC’s were they are least interested in employees and they can go to any steps to earn profits.
Silent layoffs of skilled employees have left the negative footprint on many employees working/were working with Avalara. Serving a company for more than 4-5years with full dedication and then surprisingly laying off people with no proper justification is bad

Avalara was a good company to work for and so far the same image has been out there in the market. But a lot has changed after the company was sold. Company culture has become brutal and there is no job security at all. There is continuous firing, especially for tech roles. Career progression is really difficult and hikes are not good. Hiring firing company. In Sep 2024 they dissolved the entire team asking 2 month old & 2 weeks old & even 2 days old joinees to leave.. Witnessed a scenario where people who joined few months ago, few weeks ago and few days ago were asked to leave with NO compensation. A lady who worked for 10 years as almost a founder member of Avalara India was asked to leave and ID got deactivated over phone in few seconds only..
