Only good thing about Amazon is that they provide competitive compensation and other perquisites like ESOP/insurance in the industry.

Dislikes

I have worked with Amazon for 5 years. It might be good as an organization/brand, but their Indian leadership don't really deserve to be called out as leaders. They have zero empathy for employees. They can freely neglect HR policies as per their convenience without worrying about anything/anybody.

Dislikes

While Amazon has great working culture, it still does not have basic technology to track daily metrics, everything is done manually. The promotion process is biased and subjected to a Manager's perception, rather than the employee's rating or performance. In the 18 months , I have not heard about my goals and my performance against it, though I checked with my manager a few times before I gave up. The business leaders at Seattle don't get complete visibility of what is happening in Bangalore and hence, most managers working here are unhappy. Work from home is frowned upon and parallel process to the Amazon WFH policy is followed....Read More
