If you are reporting to the US manager, then there is a problem. Encountered discrimination because of Indian. India (local) HR is not authorized to ask American employees, if you raise or escalate any issues with them against the US reporting manager. US manager always forces you to attend meetings, even if you inform him to log off early because of a health issue or take any ad hoc one-day leave . If you ask for Christmas vacation, the US reporting manager's first question is: It's a US holiday, why do you need 3-4 days of vacation? Every time you go on leave, the US manager will ask you to identify a backup resource. However, this condition is not applicable to US employees. There are absolutely no guidelines for putting employees on PIP. An employee who has not yet finished the probationary period (4 months after joining the company) has been placed in PIP by the US manager without informing local HR. PIP email from the US manager is threatening the employee, highlighting termination of employment with the organization....Read More

Got Rejected In an Interview, Just Because I Didn’t Answer a Personal Question

So, I got invited for this interview, and they told me to be there at 9 AM. Of course, I get there early, like 8:30, because I don't want to be late. But then I end up waiting for 1.5 hours. Seriously, they didn't even acknowledge me until 10. Then this HR lady calls me in, and she's totally unprofessional. She's like, on her phone, making personal calls while I'm sitting right there. And then she starts asking me these really weird questions, like what my nickname is, and what my dad does for a living. It got really uncomfortable when she started pressing for details about where my dad works. I mean, what does that have to do with anything? So I politely told her I didn't want to answer, and she actually said, "Then we can't continue this interview." I was honestly shocked. But instead of arguing, I just stood up and said, “Alright then.” And walked out. I left feeling pissed. Not only did they waste an hour of my time, but the HR rep was also rude and unprofessional..
