Q. A snail climbs a 30-meter pole. It climbs 3 meters during the day and slides down 1 meter at night. How many days will it take to reach the top?
It will take 28 days for the snail to climb the 30M pole.
The snail climbs 2M (3M - 1M) each day.
It needs to cover 30M in total.
So, it will take 30M / 2M = 15 days to reach the top during the day.
However, on the 15th day, it will not slide back down as it has already reached the top.
Therefore, the total number of days needed is 15 days + 13 days (remaining 15M / 2M) = 28 days.
