Moving out of Consulting early

Leaving my current role in Consulting and going into Corporate role in a product based e-commerce company. what are the long term implications? it is a non-IT role - primarily into sustainability for a very large org. i have total 7+ YOE. Can i come back into consulting later on, if i want to? How easy or difficult will it be?

I did the same thing! Left consulting for a corporate role and never looked back. It's a different world slower pace, more internal politics, but also a chance to really own something and see it through. Sustainability in e-commerce? That's a goldmine. Embrace the change. Don't worry about returning to consulting right now. Focus on excelling in your new role. You might find you love it and never want to go back!

The reason this decision sounds exciting and anxious to me is that I’m having to pick this over another great offer but from consulting itself in Big 4. I don’t have such big names on my resume, so I was wondering if it’s a wise choice or not and how my future prospects might look if I want to re enter.

[a team lead](username) good question. Haven’t thought of it. All these years I felt my skills were best suited for and capable in consulting. And now that I’m moving out, I hadn’t thought of my re entry. Only time will tell.
