I need career advice
I've been working in Kotak Bank Headquarters from past 4 years as an MIS Executive and Analyst. I'm good with excel and SQL and familiar with Power BI. My ctc is around 3.5Lpa, how should I grow in my career in terms of profile and as well as the pay?

It sounds like you’ve got solid skills in Excel, SQL, and some Power BI. To grow, consider enhancing your Power BI expertise, learning Python for data analysis, or transitioning into a Data Analyst or BI Analyst role. These skills can boost your profile and salary significantly. Look for opportunities within Kotak or other firms with better pay scales!

Have you thought about pursuing certifications like Tableau or advanced Power BI? It could really help you pivot into higher-paying data roles!

the first step would be to identify the roles in which you want to switch too, then research if those roles pay a higher salary than your current pay. you can use ambitionbox for this salary research. if the salary range is better and you like the role, then research if there are any specific skills you need to learn for those roles, if yes, then learn them and then start your job hunt! because 3.5 lpa after 4 years of work-ex sounds low atleast to me. Or bdw you can also consider an mba from a good bschool.

I would suggest to go for NSE or CFA or FRM certification if you are interested in banking or in risk management.

You could also try for internal department changes. Maybe venture out to BI/Product teams with the skillset you have, and see if you can land higher designation roles in different departments. 4 years of experience should really help.
