Dealing with Workplace Harassment

Yesterday, a colleague said something inappropriate to me, I ignored it for a while but i guess he just took it as a signal that i wont say anything and kept creeping me out and it left me shaken. Instead of brushing it off, I spoke up to my manager and the issue got escalated to the HR. It wasn’t easy I was nervous about the fallout but I knew ignoring it wasn’t the answer. So, Today, in the HR meeting, he tried to downplay it, saying, “I treat everyone like family.” I calmly told him, “You’re not my family, you’re my colleague. Act professionally. He started to cry and got emotional. But no matter what I have decided to take the matter with management and my HR and ma'am is very much supportive towards it and literally gave me a hug🥺

Faced something similar in my first job. Reported it, got labeled 'too sensitive.' Still glad I spoke up. Never let anyone gaslight you into silence.

The emotional manipulation afterwards is the worst. Stay strong, you deserve a safe workplace.

Being professional isn't that hard just don’t be creepy. Seems simple, yet so difficult for some.😒
