Changing teams internally vs changing company

Need Advice I am trying to switch company this year. It is my main goal But i found out recently there is a internal job opening for which if I apply i will get atleast 30% hike But again I am planning to leave the company. If i switch teams I might leave by October December and if I don't switch teams i aim to leave by July PS: i have 3 years experience currently, my current project there is high dependency on me (but won't be promoted in team as manager has informed me)

It’s always tough deciding between internal opportunities and making a fresh start elsewhere. Have you considered how the new role aligns with your long-term career goals?

A 30% hike is tempting, but if you’re planning to leave the company anyway, is it worth staying longer just for that? Consider whether the new team will offer more learning or challenges that excite you.

Switching teams can give you a new environment and fresh challenges, but if you're aiming for a role where you can grow into a managerial position or take on more responsibility, a new company might be the better choice.

If you’re planning to leave by December anyway, maybe switching teams could give you more time to plan your next move. It might be a good way to explore different roles before making the big change.

It’s always a balance between immediate rewards and long-term goals. A 30% hike could be nice, but if your primary goal is career advancement and new challenges, maybe looking for a fresh start is the better option.

If the internal role gives you more exposure to new projects, that could add to your experience and make your transition to a new company smoother later.
