- EasyJet, the European budget airline, reported record-breaking profits, attributing its success to engine choices and an all-Airbus fleet.
- CEO Johan Lundgren stated that this approach has allowed EasyJet to avoid the problems faced by competitors such as Ryanair and Wizz Air, who have experienced delays and grounded planes due to Boeing and Pratt & Whitney issues.
- While Ryanair reported a decrease in profits and blamed Boeing delays, Wizz Air had to ground 41 planes for engine inspections due to a rare condition affecting the Pratt & Whitney engines they use.
- EasyJet, however, faced its own supply-chain challenges, including raw material and labor restraints, resulting in three fewer plane deliveries than expected this year.
