Competition Commission of India clears GMR, DIAL in IGI Airport contracts case
- The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has cleared GMR Airports Limited and Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) of allegations of abuse of dominant position.
- The case involved the awarding of parking and lounge contracts at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), Delhi.
- After examining the submissions from both parties, the CCI found no merit in the allegations and concluded that DIAL had conducted competitive bidding processes for awarding the contracts.
- The ruling allows GMR Airports Limited and DIAL to continue operating the airport's commercial services as per the existing agreements.

- Delhi International Airport Ltd's equity is expected to erode in the current fiscal, impacting its borrowing costs.
- DIAL, operated by GMR Group, has incurred a cumulative loss of Rs 2,900 crore.
- The operator has proposed varying User Development Fee (UDF) for international flights, subject to approval by AERA.

Delhi Terminal 2 Set To Be Temporarily Closed For Much-Awaited Facelift
- Delhi Terminal 2 of Delhi International Airport Ltd. is set to be closed temporarily for a major overhaul.
- The closure will last for about four to six months, starting from the end of April.
- The renovation is being done to meet the growing passenger traffic and modernize the infrastructure.
- During the closure, the load will be absorbed by the newly developed Terminal 1.
