Apple may replace iPhone display supplier amidst quality concerns
- Chinese-based iPhone display provider, BOE, is facing quality issues that could impact the supply of future iPhones, including the upcoming iPhone SE 4.
- BOE has experienced a significant drop in shipments after Apple rejected many of its LTPS AMOLED displays, causing the majority of its display orders to be redirected to Samsung Display.
- Despite the challenges, BOE and LG Display have been selected as the OLED suppliers for the iPhone SE 4, which is expected to be announced soon.
- The iPhone SE 4 will be the first to feature an in-house 5G chip, a 6.1-inch AMOLED display, an A17 chip, an improved camera system, and Face ID.

Apple May Drop iPhone Display Supplier Over Quality Issues
- Apple is reportedly considering dropping display supplier BOE over quality issues.
- BOE has been struggling to meet Apple's quality standards for LTPS AMOLED displays for iPhone 14, 15, and 16 models.
- BOE has only managed to deliver 7-8 million panels to Apple, falling significantly short of the 40 million unit orders.
- Samsung Display is likely to receive the majority of any redirected orders, while LG Display is focused on manufacturing LTPO AMOLED displays for iPhone 'Pro' models.

Samsung could get some rival Android devices banned in US if it has its way
- The US International Trade Commission has made a preliminary decision that BOE infringed on Samsung Display’s patents.

- If the ban were to be approved, it could affect Android brands like Motorola, OnePlus, and more.
- This patent infringement case started in 2022 against 17 importers and wholesalers, and later BOE was looped into the drama as a defendant in 2023.
