AOC Gaming C27G4ZXE review
- The AOC Gaming C27G4ZXE is a 280Hz gaming monitor for under $200, making it a great option for those on a budget.
- The monitor is 1080p, which is a necessary compromise at this price point, but it makes sense from a price-performance perspective as a lower resolution will likely be a better fit with your graphics card.
- The AOC Gaming C27G4ZXE uses VA rather than IPS panel which tend to have worse response and viewing angles, but better contrast.
- This monitor feels a bit cheap and has a general lack of build, ergonomics, and connectivity-wise, only offering tilt adjustment, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and single DisplayPort input.
- The AOC Gaming C27G4ZXE has basic HDR 10 support, but it is not a true HDR display with a maximum brightness of 300 nits, and no local dimming.
- The 280Hz refresh definitely translates into snappy responses to control inputs. However, the pixel response is not that impressive and the response really isn't great.
- AOC tuned the colors in default sRGB mode very well but they messed up when it comes to HDR content.
- The pixel density is a bit ugly on the windows desktop, but games don't look too bad when it comes to visual detail.
